Because I started cat sitting via Cat in a Flat before setting up Felines & Flowers more recently, many of my reviews are on that platform, so here's a small selection from there:
"What can I say?!? Sophie was so thorough on her visit to meet us and the pets. She wrote everything down and followed up with a doc with all the details to make sure nothing had been missed. We had messages each day she’d visited with pictures attached which really helped my kids relax being away from their kitties. Definitely recommend!"
- Francine
"Sophie did another great job looking after Blacky and all my many garden plants and fish. Blacky has not looked so good for years after all the extra grooming he had while I was away. Loads of thanks."
- Mark
"Sophie was fantastic - so thorough on the initial visit and created a detailed care plan for us to check. She spent lots of time petting and playing with Thomas to ensure he was happy and relaxed. She kept us updated with photos and videos and even put our bin out and took in post. The whole service was incredibly professional and personalised."

Below I've outlined some Frequently Asked Questions and provided answers. Please contact me if you have a question about anything else.
Yes, I have pet business insurance with Protectivity. To see evidence of this, please head here, click on the Protectivity logo, and a pop-up will appear showing my policy details.
Because I have my own cats to look after, this isn't a service I usually offer, and you may prefer to use a another sitter that does provide this care. However, I might consider this as a one off in unusual circumstances for a regular client, for example due to a cat's short term heightened medical needs, so please feel free to ask, and I can consider the circumstances and let you know.
Although my business insurance does cover me for boarding pets, this isn't a service I offer for cats, as it would be too challenging to manage around my own cats. However, boarding a small pet like a hamster may be possible, so please feel free to ask.
Although I love all animals, unfortunately I don't have much experience with dogs, so would not feel confident or comfortable looking after them for you. There are other local sitters that focus exclusively on dogs who will be better equipped to help, so I recommend contacting them to check their availability.
I'm experienced in administering supplements and liquid medications such as Semintra and Thyronorm, either onto food or directly into the cat's mouth.
I'm also able to give tablets, provided your cat is used to this and amenable! Unfortunately at this time I'm not qualified to give injections, such as injecting subcutaneous fluids to prevent dehydration. However I'm willing to learn, and if your cat needs treatment like this I have a good relationship with my vet and can ask him if he will provide me with training.
If I'm concerned about the wellbeing of your cat or any of your other pets in my care I will always try to get hold of you in the first instance. However, if I feel it's an emergency, and I'm unable to get hold of you quickly, I will make a common sense judgment about taking them to the vets.
Before going away I will require you to complete my vet release form and it would also be advisable to let your vet know the dates your cat will be under my care. If for any reason your vet refuses to see your animal because I'm not their owner, I reserve the right to take them to my vet instead, Swale Barn Vets in Faversham, or if it's out of hours, to the nearest emergency vets.
Ultimately I will do whatever I feel is in the animal's best interests, and this will mirror the decisions I would make with my own cats.
Once the dates and booking is confirmed I'll send you an invoice which will include details about how to pay. I don't recommend paying until a few days beforehand, in case you need to make any changes to your booking. However, payment must be received 24 hours before the sitting is due to start.
Plans change, and I try to be as flexible as possible, and not unduly penalise people. However, please be aware that sometimes I may have had to turn down other work due to committing to your booking. As such, I reserve the right to charge 20% of the overall cost of your booking if you cancel with less than a week's notice, and 50% if you cancel within 48 hours of the start time. This is not a hard and fast rule and will be considered case by case, based on the circumstances.
Referrals are always welcome, and if you refer someone to me for any of the services I offer and they go on to become a client, I will show my appreciation by taking £20 off your next booking.
Depending on the circumstances, I may be able to apply a small discount in these cases. If this applies to you, please get in touch to discuss.
I take security really seriously and always double check doors, windows etc. are shut and locked when I leave. I keep clients' keys securely in my home without any identifying details, except the name of your cat or cats. You will see I have not provided my home address on this website or Google, again this is for your security.
I do not wear a uniform or drive a car with business branding, as it's important I avoid drawing any attention to the fact you're away. You may however wish to tell those you live nearest to that I will be visiting, to avoid me being interrograted by any well meaning neighbours!
This is no problem at all; I also have cameras in my home to keep an eye on my cats when I'm out or away. I would however appreciate it if you could let me know, as no-one enjoys being filmed without their knowledge.
